Oktoberfest-Munich

Oktoberfest 2022 in Munich Germany

Oktoberfest in Munich dates back centuries to when King Ludwig I of Bavaria wed Princess Therese from Saxony-Hildburghausen on October 12th, 1810. He had no clue he was setting the foundations for what would become the largest beer festival in the world a couple of centuries later. The modest gathering of Bavarians on their wedding celebrated with beer and wine, sang, danced and had so much fun that they decided it should be repeated at the same time the following year, which marked the birth of the “October-Festivals”.
